(PA 12 is my old district, where my parents still live.) O'neill was right, and so are you: too much national emphasis is placed on these local races. The prime lesson to be learned from Scott Brown's election is MA was not that health care reform is a loser for Dems, or that the nation wanted to send word that Obama was a one-term president; it's that Martha Coakley(?) was the worst candidate imaginable.
