The Future of Action Films

    The editing was rock solid. The suspense was palpable. The plot clear and concise.

    Like you say, who needs 120 million bucks to make a good film. If you know what you're doing, good storytelling is good storytelling.

    Turn those guys loose on an 80-minute adaptation of my novel Claws, and we could sell some tickets.

    Mountain lion stalks campers near Tucson, Arizona. Wildlife expert grapples with personal issues regarding cougars to save the day.

    Easily filmable.

    It's all about having fun and being a competent storyteller. These people you hear going on and on about character and emotional investment just don't get that. Or at least, they believe in character and emotional investment too much so.

    Give me Terminator any day over The English Patient.

    And I don't think I'm alone in the U.S. with that sentiment.
