It's Offical: Conservatives Now Hate America

Jay Nordlinger gets all pissy at the National Review:

It seems to me that the Left has won: utterly and decisively. What I mean is, the Saturday Night Live, Jon Stewart, Bill Maher mentality has prevailed. They decide what a person’s image is, and those images stick. They are the ones who say that Cheney’s a monster, W.’s stupid, and Palin’s a bimbo. And the country, apparently, follows....

A country that believes that Cheney’s a monster, W.’s stupid, and Palin’s a bimbo is a country with its head up its . . .

Heh. Remember how aghast wingnuts were when those awful traitorous Democrats dared to be unhappy about the narrow (if even that) victory of their Dear Leader? How dare they question the wisdom of the voters?

But IOKIYAR!

  1. WTF is IOKIYAR?

What!!??!! Those conservative icons- Rush, O'Reilly, Hannity, Coulter - have left the airways? This smacks of more of that whiny crap they pull every time things don't go their way. Why haven't they just dragged Bill Clinton out of the closet again?
    That always gets 'em going.

I hate to be the one to tell them, but SNL has been around longer than any of them, and Stewart and Maher ain't no babes in the woods. There's a huge element of the public that has always followed them. Screw their whiny crap.

  2. IOKIYAR=It's Okay If You're A Republican. The only principle the GOP still clings to.

  3. I do not understand the degree to which wingnuts consider their ideology holy writ, complete with a fictional Omnipotent Liberal Conspiracy I've yet to actually see without the aid of an overweight drug addict, an idiot bully of an ex-construction worker, or a vapid blonde who should have been aborted to parse every little thing anyone says down to the most irrelevant details.

Rush, Sean, Anne, go thou and self-fornicate.

  4. A nutjob called in this morning to Washington Journal on C-SPAN and was defending Bush by blaming Clinton.

"Clinton missed 13 chances to kill Osama bin Laden."

  6. "I do not understand the degree to which wingnuts consider their ideology holy writ..."

Then you have missed the very essence of the wingnut. First Commandment: "I am a wingnut. My shit doth not stink."

"Clinton missed 13 chances to kill Osama bin Laden."

See? It all boils down to Clinton, every time. It's like what Robin Williams once said about losing the audience: "When all else fails, use the F word." When all else fails, blame Clinton.
