Mounting lions? What, are they especially horny over there? Or is it just because they live in a cat house?
We live along a beautiful river. We're up over our asses in white tail deer. Sumbitches'll eat whatever you plant. Even cactus. Jeez. Of course it doesn't help that many of the loonies living in this park think it's cute to feed the damn things...
Oh yeah, you guys in NC got a mountain lion hunting season yet? We do in South Dakota.
In the last month the GF&P have killed two mountain lions - a mom and a young male - within 100 feet of our house. And like you, Dusty, we live in TOWN. A wooded area, yes, but its residental and has been for 30 years.
We also are overrun with deer and turkeys. And those people who feed them? A lady doesn't use such language in public :)
Lori: until this, we didn't really have any mountain lions, let alone a season to hunt them.
Chris: okay. Just watch out for the snakes.
We've got a lot of deer around here, so much that the dog doesn't even bother to chase them anymore. I often come home to find a few grazing in the pecan grove across the road.
We've got deer-feeding loonies, too. Of course, one of those puts food out for the deer, then shoots them when they come down the trail into his back yard to eat.
I had a conversation today with a sheriff's deputy who told me we're developing a coyote problem here, too. In North Carolina. Who'da thunk it? I said I'd never seen any until I realized that some of those "weird looking foxes" I've seen might be coyotes.
We're trying to move to someplace with an economy, but job hunting is hard.
Other than that, not much changes. I'm still with Brett, we're still with Holly, and the three of us decided to buy rings and come clean to all our respective parents about a year ago.

Dusty, thanks for the map. It's going to make it so much easier to reposess your car.
Ah the consequences of urban sprawl. We get mountain lions, coyotes and all manner of critters out here.

Makes you think twice about going out for that midnight snack, doesn't it?
Only if he's wearing a pair of antlers.
We've got coyotes in the little wooded park behind our condos, smack dab in the middle of suburban Detroit.
Droewyn! Darling! How are you?

I'm not so bad. Up to my ears in Family Drama, as my brother was just abruptly dumped by his fiancé a few weeks ago.
