The Real Shock From Tonight's Caucuses

Yahoo! News: Democratic Sen. Chris Dodd of Connecticut was set to abandon his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination Thursday after a poor showing in Iowa's precinct caucuses.

This was a particular shock, because most of us had forgotten that Dodd was still running.

Hey, Dodd was my guy. I knew he was running.

I guess I'm going to have to throw my support to Biden.

Yes, I do like long shots, why do you ask?

I understand his people/person didn't even show up in Iowa for the caucus.

Edwards's concession speech was terrific. I wonder if more than a dozen people heard it.

May want to rethink the Biden thing since he's gone too.

I'm hoping Dodd will go back and challenge Reid for the Majority leadership position.

I predict Iowa will be irrelevant by the end of February. Didn't George Bush lose in Iowa in 2000?

I'm also convinced this is going to be the midpoint of Mike Huckabee's 15 minutes of fame. He got the far right out there and convinced them that Mitt Romney is a closet liberal out shopping for extra wives, but now he has to go sell that in the Northeast. Might work in Ohio, but living there, I can tell you the hard right line is wearing very thin. You'd be amazed the number of Democrats coming out of the closet lately, among them people who would never have dared criticize Bush.

Naturally, they now said they knew he was bad all along.

Uh-huh. And I didn't put away my Bengals gear by week 8.
