Why I Love Digby

Hullabaloo addresses one of those deeply concerned types who admits that there is no connection between Rod Blagojevich's corruption and Barack Obama, but who is nevertheless wringing his hands and fretting that the Obama team isn't being quick enough in "getting all the facts out":
Jesus H. Christ. They always say this and it's never, ever enough. Obama could sit down with David Gregory and spill his guts like he was lying on a therapist's couch and he would be accused of not "getting the facts out." This is because the only "fact" they care about is one that says there was wrongdoing. Anything other than that is being "coy."

Bingo. The so-called "liberal" media wants to pin Blago's bullshit on Obama so bad they can taste it, and they're clutching at any straw they can to turn that into the story. That dog won't hunt, but they're kicking the poor hound as hard as they can.

The only hope for all of us is that they are unable to do this. We need a President who is trusted in the next four years.

The citizens of this country have the right to know what involvement,if any, Rahm Emanuel and/or the president-elect had related to the corruption in Illinois politics. I say investigate.

Living in the Chicago area, I find it hard to believe that Obama could of risen in Illinois politics and not known of local corruption. We are quick see the man as a symbol of purification and above all this, but in Illinois you have to play the game. Lets also see where David Axelrod fits in this. Here in Chicago, it is starting to stink.

So, J.D. and JMT: should there also be investigations of Bobby Jindal and Sarah Palin becuase officials in their states have been shown to be corrupt?

I don't understand why you are willing to look the other way. I voted for Obama, but I knew where he came from politically and how he got there. We understand this in Illinois. Chicago politics is about power, making deals and connections to not so righteous people. We would love to believe we have someone different in the president-elect, but in realty that would be naive.
I'm just trying to tell you what to expect, we know this here in the Windy City.
