This Is Why the Wingnuts Continue to Fail

Nixon Shaking Hands with Mao=Diplomacy

Reagan shaking hands with Gorbachev=Statesmanship

Bush shaking hands with Putin=International Relations

Obama shaking hands with Chavez= OMFGSOCIALISTMARXISTFASCISTWEAK WEAKTRAITORTRAITORTRAITORBLAAAAAGH!

For God's sake you people, GROW UP. It's a HANDSHAKE.

Once again, focusing on trivia rather than substance and trying to convince the American people that a simple gesture of civility will lead to the Downfall of America....

and THAT is why you fail.

I was getting ticked off, again, about this bullcrap during my lunch when I watched the news.

The argument seems to be that Obama should not be diplomatic at a diplomatic event.

John Dishon said...

I agree with you here. I mean, what did they expect Obama to do, spit in his face? A handshake is just common courtesy.

JD Rhoades said...

A handshake is just common courtesy.A courtesy extended by Presidents of both parties, even to world leaders with whom they disagreed. It's called acting like a grownup.

It was more than a handshake. He also did the "I'm your bro" shake with him as well. Or did you conveniently forget to remember that fact? He also allowed Chavez to disrespect him and this country by accepting *chuckle chuckle* a book he has no business accepting. They aren't casual "bros" Obama is the leader of the free world and with that, there should be a level of respect shown. Chavez didn't show it because Obama doesn't demand it.

OK, it's settled. I'm going to have to open a blogspot account.

G'head. Every time you post, you prove more of my point about the wingnuts' obsession with arguing over trivia.

The "I'm your bro" handshake? So what?

And OMG! A BOOK! Not a BOOK!

Look, Mandy, I know how your type fears book larnin', but I promise you, it's just a book.

Hey JD -
Careful. You know nothing about me or my education. Instead of being insulting (which most psychologists will tell you is only to compensate for you lack), why not tell your very few readers what the book is really about. Have you read it? Why do you think Chavez gave it to him the way that he did? These are questions by the way.

And you won't be happy with any answer, so why should I bother arguing this trivia with an obvious endurance troll (see comments below)?

Anonymous said...

You have to actually answer the questions before I can decide whether I'm happy with the answer or not. You're good at not answering. I need to check some of previous cases before a judge and see if there's been problems there as well.

Here's an earlier question you failed to answer; if you don't actually have clients, are you still an attorney?

-- Mandy

JD Rhoades said...

Of course you are, so long as you're licensed by the State Bar. That is, by the way, an amazingly stupid question. Again, making a huge to-do over questions like that which are irrelevant to real issues is why your kind is out of power and won't be there again soon.

Didn't click the link in the prior thread, did you? Don't fear the Google, Mandy. Google is your friend.

Gerard Saylor said...

That analogy of talk show host vs. attorney is bizarre.

By your reasoning I can call myself a talk show host if I sit at home on my couch and talk out loud at the television. Apparently a person does not need a broadcast medium at all to be a talk show host.

Shoddy, JD. Shoddy. If you rely on Google to pull up all your information and gain all of your knowledge of the world, then you are getting misinformation. Anyone, as you have proven, can write anything and say anything and there is no filter of truth. Shoddy, JD. Shoddy.

Also, it is not an amazingly stupid question since I was referring to your comments about Pamela. Follow the bouncing ball, JD. Just because Pamela is not on the air at this very second, doesn't mean her title as such is suspect. You painted a picture that it was. You owe her an apology for your shoddy google research.

Gerald,
It's a perfect analogy. Being in between jobs doesn't negate her radio career, now does it? Does it negate the fact that her next job will no doubt be in radio, and no doubt talking for a living?

So again, I ask, if you have no clients, does that mean you're not an attorney?

If you have no patients, and no office, does that mean you are no longer a doctor?

If your boss has laid you off because the company lost the contract to design missles, does that mean you're no longer an engineer?

It really is very logical.

Shoddy shoddy shoddy shoddy...

Repetitious much, Mandy? Running out of steam like your party's run out of ideas?

As Gerard pointed out, comparing an attorney (which requires licensure, the passing of the Bar, etc), to a talk show host (which requires some sort of, you know, SHOW to be the host of) is the sort of bizarre equivalency only the seriously reality challenged could come up with. And your disdain for information acquired via the Web's most widely used search engine is equally bizarre. You'd be more comfortable with Yahoo! Search? Askjeeves? What?

You know, you really fail at this Internet business, Mandy. Maybe you should take up croquet.

Anonymous said...

So your answer is NO, you're not going to apologize to Pamela for painting a picture that she may have been "canned" for comments on the air. Just checking. Nice way to stand up and admit you're wrong.

Miss points a lot, JD? You can't just do a google search and then claim the results are accurate. Your law degree should have taught you that.

So again, an apology to Pamela? Oh yeah, you ignored that question ...

You've got a blog-stalker! Well now, you've hit the big-time!

And a handshake is a handshake, diplomacy takes two parties, and accepting a book doesn't mean instant conversion to belief. It's a book.

Hey, at least Mandy does go out of her way to prove your points, though.

JD Rhoades said...

She's good at that.

I go out of town for four days and come back to this? I looked forward to returning to some intelligent discourse. How mistaken I was! But then again, there is a wingnut in the room...

Okay, betting pool time.

Everyone who thinks Mandy is actually Pamela Furr, playing sock puppet, you're in pool one.

Everyone who thinks Mandy is *real*, posting honest opinions, you're in pool two.

Everyone who thinks Mandy's a sock puppet for someone else, trying to be humorous and see if they can yank Dusty's chain, you're in pool three.

Place your bets!

(And you can all vote on which would be the most deliciously funny of the three, as well... but I wanna see how big the betting pool gets.)

JD Rhoades said...

Put me down for pool one (Mandy as sock puppet).

Celine said...

I'll take pool one, but only because you left out pool four: Mandy is a paid astroturfer, or trying to become one.

JD Rhoades said...

Possible but unlikely. Remember, if she's not Furr, the object of her affection is unemployed right now.

Randy Johnson said...

I'm in for pool one.

Tom said...

BWAH-Hah-HAH!! But you failed to imagine yet another possibility - that Mandy may be (gasp!) a sock puppet made of astroturf!!

FTW!!!

Celine said...

I'm not trying to say she wants to be a paid astroturfer for Furr specifically; that was just a handy focus point on your blog. But it does look as though someone may be paying her by the post.

Not that Dusty needs me talking for him, but..

If you pass the bar, you a lawyer. If you are not practicing, and aren't disbarred, you are still a lawyer.

Pamela doesn't have a job in radio, so she's not in radio. No bar to pass or be disbarred from, no certification needed for it.

Why did this need to be explained?

Cameron Hughes said...

Put me in pool 2. I've met too many ignoramuse's like Mandy on the Right. She's real
