The WaPo's Charles Krauthammer Is Lying To You

The Washington Post's Charles Krauthammer continues to perpetuate the lie that President Obama is weak on national security because he no longer uses the words "terrorism" or describes what's going on as a "War on Terror." This lie--and I will repeat the word a lot, because it's important to call it what it is--was also recently parroted by one of our anonymous trolls here at What Fresh Hell.

The fact is, Obama uses the word terrorism a lot, as you can see if you'd just take the time to read some of the transcripts on the White House Website. In fact, his last radio address uses the word or some variant of it six times in four minutes and fifty seconds. The page on the website that addresses Homeland Security uses the word terrorism four times. A search for the word "terrorism" on the Whitehouse.gov site turns up nine pages of hits.

As for the lie that 'he doesn't even call it  a war anymore" , here's a graf from the same address:

On that day I also made it very clear-our nation is at war against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred, and that we will do whatever it takes to defeat them and defend our country, even as we uphold the values that have always distinguished America among nations.

How much more often would the President have to use the word to satisfy people like Krauthammer? The answer is: none. They'll just keep lying.

So arm yourselves with the facts for the next time some wingnut starts spreading the lie that "Obama doesn't even call it terrorism any more!"

You have to understand that your views are not necessarily the same views as others. Or in most cases, the same as the majority of Americans.

Obama was ignorant of the intelligence what was out there. He refused to accept the reality -that Islamic Terrorism threatens are citizens. After the Christmas Day event he started to do what a President is suppose to do, Protect It's Citizens... It would of been nice to see him end his 2 weeks in sunny Hawaii and get his ass back on Air Force One to D.C. (That would have been befitting a President)

For once Al stays on topic, but, as we shall see, he's still got his head up his ass.

So?

Obama was ignorant of the intelligence what was out there.

As were a lot of people. A problem which he's moving to address. With no help, we might add, from the hacks desperate to use this incident, not to make America safer, but to score political points. this used to be described as "treason."

He refused to accept the reality -that Islamic Terrorism threatens are citizens.

I assume you mean "our" citizens, and this point has already been refuted. Repeating lies doesn't make them so, Al.

It would of been nice to see him end his 2 weeks in sunny Hawaii and get his ass back on Air Force One to D.C. (That would have been befitting a President)

Yes, he should have done like John McCain during the economic meltdown, rushed back here with his hair on fire to do...what, exactly? Scare people worse?

Of course, your hero, George Dubbya, didn't make any statement at all about the terrorist attack that occurred on HIS watch for SIX DAYS. And you know what? No one said a word about that, not even me, until now? You know why? Because it FAILED. And using a failed terrorist attack for political gain is the mark of the truly desperate, not to mention the despicable.

Prediction: Al will now ignore every point made in favor of whining because I said "ass."

There are some nice posts over at Language Log disproving claims of overuse of first-person language.

Not more than ten minutes ago I heard Al's ghost writer, Sen. DeMint, say the same lie on CNN.

And thanks for reading Krauthammer so I don't have to. The man's an angry, evil nutcase without a glimmer of integrity or honesty.

No I will not, I even respect your comments. And to correct you, I never was a George Bush fan.

Hey, you think Al is actually Senator DeMinted?

No I will not, I even respect your comments. And to correct you, I never was a George Bush fan.

At last something we can agree on. Thank you, Senator.
