Palin lashes out at `Family Guy' - Yahoo! News
Sarah Palin is lashing out at the portrayal of a character with Down syndrome on the Fox animated comedy "Family Guy."
In a Facebook posting headlined "Fox Hollywood — What a Disappointment," the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee and current Fox News contributor said Sunday night's episode felt like "another kick in the gut." Palin's youngest son, Trig, has Down syndrome.
Seriously. She gets this upset over a stupid joke on Family Guy? Yes, it's cruel, yes it's offensive, but its' a stupid TV show.
This sort of thing is why I really wish that Caribou Barbie makes good on her threat to run for President. She is easily the most thin-skinned politician on the national stage. She cannot lay her head down at night until she's found someone or something that she thinks is insulting to poor Trig (or Bristol, or whoever) and then try to blow it up into a national scandal. Even her resignation speech when she quit the Alaska governorship cold be shortened to "people are mean to me and my family, so I quit, Nyaah." It plays well to those whose entire political philosophy is based on resentment, but as the man once said, "politics ain't beanbag."
I guarantee that, if she does run, someone will say something to set her off. It's how presidential campaigns are. Jesus, they questioned Obama's faith, his patriotism, his very citizenship, and wingnut blogs were posting pictures of Michelle Photoshopped to look like a character from Planet of the Apes. If Palin gets a tenth of that kind of flak, she will crack like an egg. She will then have a messy and very public meltdown that will drive away everyone but the most fanatical Palindrones.
So...RUN, SARAH, RUN!

Dude, I've been saying to my wife Susan that if Sarah Palin gets elected President, we are going to be moving out of the country.
I have never felt so strongly before in my life about how dangerous it would be if Palin got elected.
A gun-happy, sarcastic, incompetent President who has poor anger management issues? That's a recipe for consequences from which I want to be living no less than a 1,000 miles offshore.
I am taking bets on how long she lasts as a talk show host. She will say or do something so stupid even Fox will get sick of her.

Sounds like good column fodder to me!
She seems bound to cause a great a divide in the Republican party, which will send the independents to the left. Good news all around.
Celine: HOLY SHIT. That is truly terrifying. But as someone who works in the "Juvenile Justice" system, I've become depressingly familiar with this post-Columbine idea that "maintaining order in the schools" justifies the most gross invasions of privacy imaginable.
I've taken heart in a recent poll showing that 71% of respondents do not believe Palin is qualified to be president. So if she did get the Republican nomination--and that's a long shot--she'd lose by a landslide. She only appeals to the fringe of the fringe, for the rest of us, she's a joke.
This is a woman with an incredibly short attention span. She lost interest in being governor, and it's a safe bet she'll lose interest in being a Fox pundit (which is such an easy gig). She doesn't have the stamina, discipline or the political savvy to get elected president. But I expect we'll have a lot of fun watching her soar into the campaign then crash and burn.
I agree with her that the Family Guy joke about Trig was in poor taste. But Family Guy is all about Poor Taste. If you don't want to be offended, don't watch it.
Fortunately for all of us, she lacks stamina for the boring stuff of government. I think she's going for the gold (literally) although she'll tease her way into 2012 and maximize her bank account doing it.
It would be funny if they came close to nominating her, or even did nominate her, and then she pulled the "I need to spend more time with my family" ploy. And they'd be left holding the bag.
And if she doesn’t run Obama is one and done
Funny, anonymouse, this sounds like the same kind of hubris that led to your last crash and burn.
Which one?
New Jersey that other state or MA?
Talk to me about hubris in November.
