The story: The Wasilla Snowbilly will be visiting London next month as part of her non-campaign for the Presidency. She will not, however, be meeting with conservative heroine Margaret Thatcher despite her desire to do so:
One Thatcher ally told the Guardian: "Lady Thatcher will not be seeing Sarah Palin. That would be belittling for Margaret. Sarah Palin is nuts."
Does anyone else find the most surprising thing about this story is that Margaret Thatcher is still alive?

I saw this story when it came out. I had several reactions.
1. Margaret Thatcher is still alive?
2. It wouldn't bother me a lot if Sara Palin ran for Brits PM, but I don't want her running for President of the U.S.
3. I thought it was pretty damned funny.
4. Sarah Palin is crazy.
Nah, I knew Maggie was still around.
But I literally laughed out loud when I read the ally's quote. It's accurate on all counts.
Yeah, and have you seen the reaction from the guanopsychotic contingent? It's everything you could hope for.
I've now given up putting Maggie Thatcher down on my annual Dead Pool list - I'm convinced that that act is what keeps her going! :P
Yeah, I didn't think Thatcher was still among the living. (AAMOF, it's been a while since I thought of her at all.)
Celine: (applause) for "guanopsychotic".

Agreed. Word of the day.
