Quote of the Day

"Everyone is in favor of free speech. Hardly a day passes without its being extolled, but some people's idea of it is that they are free to say what they like, but if anyone else says anything back, that is an outrage."
--Winston Churchill

I heard this quoted on NPR yesterday, in a story about duh prez signing the bill to keep "protesters" like Fred Phelps (the scumbag behind www.godhatesfags.com) away from military funerals.

I despise Phelps and everything for which he stands, but I'm uncomfortable with our seemingly national willingness to curb free speech.

it's gonna get worse before it gets better, if it ever DOES get better. This administration's gone to hell in a handbasket. Too bad, there's gonna have to be a LOT of legislative fixing done, which'll take up a lot of time that SHOULD be spent making advances.

Oh, well, what goes around comes around.
