A Very Very Deep Hole

Ever wonder where you'd end up if you dug a hole straight through the Earth from where you are? Well thanks to this nifty web page,
you can find out. Zoom in as far as you can, click where you want to dig and

(BLORT!)

I end up in the Indian Ocean WSW of Perth Australia.

That was sick.
Somewhere off the south-westernmost tip of Australia was where I'd end up if I dug straight down from the house I'm currently living in.

North Atlantic Ocean for me, about a third of the way from Morocco to NY.

ALso the Indian Ocean...southeast of Madagascar. Damn...I was told when I was a kid I'd come out in China.

Hmmm, also in the Indian Ocean. Wonder if that would be a good way to irrigate Arizona?

Whoa! Cool web page, Dusty! My exit spot would be the same as yours ... off the WSWcoast of Australia. It's late spring there now, right?

I decided to work the other way - pick a point and see how close I could get to China. I selected a point in Ecuador, and wound up in Singapore. Not bad for a first attempt. :-)

If you dig down from the center of Stonehenge you end up just off the edge of the shelf off the south-east coast of New Zealand more or less 'cattycorner' with Dunedin.

Kind of a let-down, really.
