Oh No He Di'int!

Al-Qaida Insults Obama in Audio Tape

CAIRO,Egypt (Nov.19) - Al-Qaida's No. 2 leader used a racial epithet to insult Barack Obama in a message posted Wednesday, describing the president-elect in demeaning terms that imply he does the bidding of whites.

The message appeared chiefly aimed at persuading Muslims and Arabs that Obama does not represent a change in U.S. policies. Ayman al-Zawahri said in the message, which appeared on militant Web sites, that Obama is "the direct opposite of honorable black Americans" like Malcolm X, the 1960s African-American rights leader.

In al-Qaida's firstresponse to Obama's victory, al-Zawahri also called the president-elect— along with secretaries of state Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice —"house negroes."

Speaking in Arabic, al-Zawahri uses the term "abeed al-beit," which literally translates as "house slaves." But al-Qaida supplied English subtitles of his speech that included the translation as "house negroes."

Okay, two things we can take away from this:

1) Osama bin Laden is almost certainly dead, or he'd be the one delivering this.

2) He called Obama a "house negro"? It's on now, muthafucka. It is on.

Obama to his new defense secretary:

"So, how long to get the Army up to speed on this raping and pillaging thing? That seemed to work for Genghis Khan."

Remember that al-Qaeda more or less endorsed John McCain, saying that he would be "much more likely to continue the failed policies of George Bush". I'd call this a pretty blatant attempt to bait Obama into doing the same thing -- and I seriously doubt it will work. Bush is easy to manipulate using the ploys of the playground, and McCain isn't much better; Obama, not so much.

Poor Malcolm X - his autobiography is a great book and if it's to be believed (and why not, really) he went through quite a spiritual transformation towards the end of his life. Most of these quotes and attitudes towards him are from earlier in his life when he was a very different guy.

Oh well, I guess that's the way of the world, you can never leave your past behind.

I agree with Celine on this one. al-Zawahri may have made it personal, but Obama's more the kind of guy who is going to move heaven and earth to get the guy properly.

Hey, maybe with the NSA listening in on bad guys rather than on phone sex involving our own people, maybe they'll get some actionable intel.
