Comment Moderation Is Enabled Again

Due to a particularly noxious infestation of trollus off-topicus anonymous, the management has been forced to re-enable comment moderation. If you don't see your comment immediately, I'll get to it ASAP.

Comments that disagree with me on the topic of the post are welcome, in fact encouraged; comments that merely repeat generic off-topic slurs and tired old discredited wingnuttery regarding President Obama, liberals, "leftists", "socialists," etc. will be deleted, as will whines about my language or the "tone" of my responses or suggestions that I suffer from some sort of mental illness. The last is well-documented and requires no reiteration.

This is not an attempt to stifle dissent or discussion; it is an attempt to stifle tiresome idiots. Like that anonymouse from Rochester NY, for example, who likes to talk shit from behind what he thinks is a wall of anonymity.

All decisions of the management are final. Thank you, and God bless.

Comment moderation is a Good Thing. I'd even advocate disabling any "anonymous" posts. If someone wants to make a point, they can sign their names.

But that's my 2 cents, and worth somewhat less than that. I think you're being more than fair, Dusty!

According to Sitemeter, Anonymous Al from Rochester has been back several times. He's apparently refused the challenge to post something other than trollery. Imagine my surprise.

Anonymous comments are the best comments. Why if it weren't for those I wouldn't get nearly the number of death threats by angry Samoans that I do.

How else am I supposed to get some stranger telling me he wants to shove my head through a plate glass window?

You can't pay for that kind of validation.

Shut up, Blackmoore. You only post about once a month anyway.

How well does sitemeter work for you, Rhoades? Is that the only statistical counter you have used?

Sitemeter works pretty well for my purposes. Tells me how many hits I'm getting and from which referrers. Also how long people stay and which pages they're looking at. Click another button and I can see where geographically hits are coming from and get most of the IP address. There are also graphical tools showing up and downs in traffic over day, week, month and year.

Thanks. I use Statcounter for work but both services seem to do the exact same thing.

I want not approve on it. I think nice post. Particularly the designation attracted me to review the unscathed story.
