Somebody Call Senator Inouye

NPR's Cokie Roberts on Obama's choice of vacation spot:

"...I know his grandmother lives in Hawaii and I know Hawaii is a state, but it has the look of him going off to some sort of foreign, exotic place. He should be at Myrtle Beach and if he’s going to take a vacation at this time. I just think this is not the time to do that."

Looks like the Hawaiian congressional delegation needs to go on TV and demand an apology from Ms. Roberts, and demand an explanation of why she regards the American working people and taxpayers of that state as somehow "foreign".

Hat tip to A Dark Planet.

Good idea, Dusty. I used to work for Senator Inouye and would love to hear what he had to say about this claptrap!

Hey, Man. I like Cokie Roberts. I am guessing Hawaii is something like the ranch at Crawford or something. The man's on vacation. Isn't that where Brittney Spears went a few months ago with Mel Gibson when the scandals were hot? And I KNOW Paris Hilton went there the day after she got out of jail.

It's a totally hot destination for the cool kids. ;-)

Just teasing ya.

If that were coming from me it would be pure jealousy. But you know Cokie could book a flight there anytime she wanted.

What an inane comment! Hawaii is Americans' number one vacation destination. I am embarrassed on a daily basis by the US media.
