The Worst Person In the World

"I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much."

--Prominent Republican Commentator Ann Coulter on the widows of men who died in the 9/11 attacks.

Now, when Michael Moore called Dubbya a "deserter", Peter Jennings demanded that General Wesley Clark, who Moore was supporting, "distance" himself from the remarks.

When Harry Belafonte called Dubbya a "terrorist," Tim Russert demanded that Senator Barack Obama "respond," despite the fact that the only thing tying Obama and Belafonte together was the general shade of their respective epidermi.

So I guess we can expect a barrage of questions to Bush Administration officials about Coulter's vicious remarks, right?

"What the fuck?" doesn't do justice to Coulter's comment. This is as bad as or worse than college professor who referred to those who died at the World Trade Center as "little Eichmanns." I can't believe that anyone, no matter how much they'd supported her in the past, could defend Coulter now.

Oh, sure, that'll be coming, followed shortly by the administration publicly denouncing Coulter.

I'm holding my breath waiting for it.

Ann Coulter is a skinny, horse-faced, bleached blonde lunatic.

Other than that, I'm fond of her.

I don't have cable or satellite TV, and I don't surf many of the political websites, so I hadn't heard of Coulter until about a year ago. She's a real piece of work. Makes Phyllis Schlafly look like Hillary Clinton.

The difference, of course, is that Ward Churchill is constanrtly trotted out by the Right as an example of the "unhinged, hateful Left," despite the fact that no one had ever heard of him until a few Right Wing columnists brought his name to prominence.
Coulter, on the other hand, spews her hatred on Fox News on what seems like a weekly basis, but no one on the Right seems to mind what she does. And, as I pointed out, no one ion the so-called "liberal media" bothers to ask Republicans if they support her views. She even got invited to one of the debates.

Thanks. I couldn't even remember that professor's name.

I think you're right when you say that no one in the GOP cares what Coulter says. Maybe it's because she's out there saying things the party leaders would love to say but dare not?

When I mentioned the Ward Churchill comment, it was not my way saying the left is as bad as the right. It was just an example of the hateful, dumbass things some people have said about 9/11.
